Using embodiment practices to access new perspectives.

At an offsite, amidst a year of changing the culture to be more proactive instead of reactive, our lead client brought us in to support the meeting with our creative processes. They really wanted to get people out of their “comfort zones” so we designed a lot of interactive processes that helped folks think differently. None was more mind-blowing in the best way than the body movement practices we did which are from Social Presencing Theater. For an hour these medical scientists moved and listened to the wisdom inherent in their bodies, opening up access to perspectives they otherwise wouldn’t have. The testimonials say it better than we could:

Just a quick note of thanks on behalf of myself and the team.  We really appreciated the value created from your visuals.  These boards will be a tremendous help to us as we continue to live the promise and as we scale these behaviours and ways of working throughout the organization.

Equally, thanks for your embodiment exercise.  You were right, it blew our minds.  WAY out of most people’s comfort zones, but I might get more positive feedback about that than just about any other part of the meeting.  People had real breakthroughs in experiencing how it feels to be unstuck.  Powerful!

Let’s look for opportunities to work together again, it was absolutely a pleasure!” Dawn

“Fully agree with Dawn’s comments. I was one of the scientists who puts mind over feelings/body and for whom this was WAY out of my comfort zone. Please note the word ‘was’ – it was very liberating and interesting to do and the exercise really had a central place in what we were trying to accomplish. Very well done, and on a personal note highly appreciated!” Gerritt
