Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce

Mackinac Policy Conference

Once a thriving metropolis, Detroit has seen its population plunge by 25 percent over the last decade and the city is currently in the middle of reinventing itself as a globally competitive, financially attractive business hub. Its an exciting story to watch.

The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce reached out to Julie to provide graphic facilitation at its annual Mackinac Policy Conference—held at the iconic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island annually for the past 50 years.

The collaborative event dubbed the “Davos of the Midwest” attracts government leaders, top business professionals, corporate CEOs, entrepreneurs and veteran regional champions and high caliber speakers such as Thomas Friedman, Michelle Rhee and Jeb Bush.

The first time they used graphic facilitation at the event the live visual mapping process blew them away. The second time they used Julie’s work as a sponsorship opportunity. Since then she’s a regular feature at the conference and does a lot of fun work in Detroit.

An interview with Julie at the event was aired on Michigan Public Radio.
