That was awesome! I too got some piercings in 1986 – two holes in my left ear – not a popular thing to do in Northfield Minnesota that year. I think it freed up a few bus seats for me as a freshman. I also can count myself amongst an elite handful of amateur swing dancers who performed in the pre-game show for Super Bowl XXXIV – it’s a surreal thing to shake your stuff in front of 70,000 people at the Georgia Dome, especially when there are trucks driving around the field that weren’t there for rehearsal.
I’ll save the other 40 tidbit for now to preserve my air of mystery and decorum
And you’re completely right about the fennel.

WOW! So great. I loved your work before and now I feel like I know a really cool person who does really cool stuff!
Here’s two little tidbits about me: I use grapeseed oil and baking soda as cleanser/moisturizer; I once competed in a body-building competition.
Now can I tell you my dream? It needs a little axis-shifting, and perhaps a well-placed f-bomb or three!!! Seriously, you should charge for that shit.
David, fellow lover of fennel….seriously, what’s wrong with these people down here?
Andy, you’re so welcome! Thanks for coming by.
Simone, I do charge for that–it’s all part of my *evil* plan, hehehe, yes, tell me your dream….
OK! Dug around on your site a bit and am now saving up for the entrepreneur thing-y. I thought since I am not a corporation (yet!) that you didn’t offer services for my needs. O was I wrong! Yay!

Julie, This is wonderful and inspiring. I think it’s fascinating how introverts and extroverts don’t “fit” in our assumed “boxes”. As an extrovert, doing something like this scares the hell out of me (but something I long to be able to do). It’s easier for me to be loud and chatty! Perhaps, I’ll get the confidence one of these days.
Hi Julie,
I just got out of a really boring interview. I grabbed my iPad and pulled up your blog post. I just wanted you to know that it made my day and I have forgotten the experience prior to reading your honest words. Why was the meeting boring? Because my pet peeve is a bunch of suits who are all full of shit. Been there done that heard it all before. So you can imagine how nice it was to read your post and know lots of other people will share not only their selves and insights but are not afraid to share their quirks either.
Cheers
Matthew

Hey Julie – I love your blog! And your “42 things”. I’m inspired to write my own story now. So glad to hear about your successes over last year!
